About Us

Geneva Center is an inter-denominational faith-based retreat, camp & conference center offering Christian programming open to all.  Our mission is to provide a place that serves all God’s people by providing a ministry of Christian hospitality and nurture. We are open to all, but the Geneva Center staff and organizational attitude will always be unapologetically Christian.

Our facilities and grounds are available to religious groups, schools, non-profit organizations, corporate entities, and families as well as to Scouting, 4-H, crafting groups and all others seeking a place to be “away from it all”…but not too far away

The Synod of Indiana (Presbyterian Church USA) bought the 235 acre property in the early 1960’s. They built the Main Conference Center, pool and 5 cabins in1965 and utilized it for summer camps and religious meetings and retreats from that time to 2016. Geneva Center was first known as “Geneva Study and Camp Center”. The Synod of Indiana turned Geneva Center over to the Presbytery of Wabash Valley in 1974.  Presbytery relocated its offices to Geneva Center in 1990 after an extension of the building was finished. Geneva Center began to make its facilities available to and to rent these facilities to other groups very early on.

Early 2015 was marked by the creation of a Geneva Center Transition Team to review and propose a plan to separately incorporate Geneva Center into its own 501(c)(3) charitable organization, an approach that was consistent  with what other PCUSA retreat centers were doing across the U.S.

As of January 1, 2016 Geneva Center, Inc. (GCI) was created as a non-profit Indiana corporation with its own separate board of directors with the charter to continue as best appropriate the 50+ year mission & ministry of Geneva Center while operating as an inter-denominational faith-based retreat, camp & conference center offering Christian programming and being open to all.  The property & facilities are still owned by the Presbytery of Wabash Valley, but the Geneva Center, Inc. board leases the property & facilities and is responsible for operating all aspects of the retreat, camp & conference center.

GCI’s goal is to provide all who visit us with a renewing spirit and extraordinary Christian hospitality.
